Verbs


Verbs have no irregular conjugation besides the existential/copula verb. Verbs have four classes based on the ending the verb the ending of the verb they originate from in Gothic or their sound. Class I involves verbs coming from -jan verbs, Class II occurs in verbs with fricatives in the root except alveolar fricatives, Class III involve verbs that come from a standard -an ending, and Class IV involves verbs that originate from a -nan ending.

Class I: maṡjõ - to eat

In Usnasian there is no future tense, future is encapsulated in the subjunctive mood along side its use in hopeful statements and in potential statements.

Ic sijo altijõ.
I will be an old person.
1.NOM.PL be.1.PL.SUBJ.PRES old.person-M.ACC.SG

The above statement can also be read as "I want to be an old person."

Friõsti min ṡiri swi marricõ is.
My friend will pull around his horse.
friend-M.NOM.SG 1.GEN.SG pull-3.SG.SUBJ.PRES around horse-M.ACC.SG 3.M.GEN
