Usnasian is a moribund East Germanic language descended from Gothic spoken across southern Ukraine primarily in Crimea and Kherson and spread across Mykolaiv and Odessa. It has a historical range that reached as far north as Belarus and some researchers speculated some dialects might have existed as far north as Latvia. The three known dialects were the Northwest Dialect which went extinct anywhere from 1890-1895 and was spoken mostly in Kharkiv and Luhansk, the Northern Dialect which went extinct in 1954 and was primarily spoken in Cherkasy, and the modern surviving Southern Dialect.
